Mon. Day 4

1.  Cafeteria Special:  Hot Chicken Sandwich with baked fries or mashed potatoes and veggie.

2.  The Stonepark Girls Volleyball team has their final tryout today at 3:10 until 4:30.  Madame MacKinnon and Mr. Young would like to thank all the young ladies who have tried out.

3.  Our girls field hockey had  a successful start to their season with three wins in the opening tournament on Saturday.  The team was up against Montague  (last years provincial winners) in the first game and played a scoreless first half.  Amelia Jenkins came out early in the 2nd and scored our first goal.  The team took off from there playing great defense and creating several scoring chances.  Sarah Steele took advantage of a rebound and scored our second goal and Amelia Jenkins added her second of the game to  finish the game 3-0.
The second game was a tougher game but the defensive combo of Abby Hurley and Molly Cox kept EWS  out of our end.  Abby Hurley and rookie Emma Campbell made several rushes and created chances for our offense.  Amelia Jenkins was the hero of the game as she scored our only goal to give us a 1-0 win.
Our third game was strictly an offensive match.  The game ended 10-0 with the girls attacking with only 4 forwards by the end of the game.  Amelia Jenkins kept up her scoring show with three goals, Maddy Koughan and Sarah Steele added two each, Karleigh McEwen, Abby Hurley and rookie Ailish Bergin each added one.  Jacklyn MacKinnon was solid in her first series in the net as she recorded the shut out in all three games.  Coaches couldn’t be prouder of the teams efforts.  The team practices today 3-4:30.
