The Origami Club:
The Origami Club will be meeting this Friday Day 1. The club is starting a project for Mr Campbell.The goal is to fold 1000 paper cranes for Mr Campbell.”The legends states that if you fold 1000 paper cranes for someone you can grant them one wish”. The club will teach anyone interested how to fold a paper cranes at this meeting. We are hoping they will then teach others in their classes how to fold paper cranes so that we can reach our goal of 1000 cranes for Mr Campbell. You do not have to be a member to come to this meeting. Anyone who folds any paper cranes can drop them off to Mr Shellington’s room anytime. We keep you updated on the total over the next couple of weeks!
Teen Book Club: There is a Teen Book Club which is held on the third Wednesday of each month at 7 pm taking place at the Confederation Centre Public Library. This month the meeting will be on Jan. 18 and the book is “Hunger Games.” Teens ages 12 – 17 are invited for some lively discussion. If interested, copies of the book can be checked out from the library using your library card.
Girls Basketball: Our girls basketball team picked up where they left off before the Christmas break with a narrow win over East Wiltshire last night. The teams were tied at the half 16-16 and EWS went into the 4th quarter with a 6 point lead. Our girls battled back to hold onto a 2 pt. win. Sadie Milner led the scoring with 8 points while Sarah Steele and Lexi McInnis added 6 each. Emily Morell and Keeley McGill played tough defense and kept us in the game. Abbey Hurley had key baskets at the end of the game to put us on top for the win. The team travels to Birchwood today for a game at 4:15
Band and Strings Students: All grade 9 band and grade 8-9 strings forms and deposits for the Atlantic Festival of Music trip must be passed in by Friday.
