The Origami Club:
The Origami Club will be meeting this Friday Day 1.
The club is starting a project for Mr Campbell.
The goal is to fold 1000 paper cranes for Mr Campbell.
“The legends states that if you fold 1000 paper cranes for someone you can grant them one wish”
The club will teach anyone interested how to fold a paper cranes at this meeting. We are hoping they will then teach others in their classes how to fold paper cranes so that we can reach our goal of 1000 cranes for Mr Campbell. You do not have to be a member to come to this meeting.
Anyone who folds any paper cranes can drop them off to Mr Shellington’s room anytime. We keep you updated on the total over the next couple of weeks!
Teen Book Club: There is a Teen Book Club which is held on the third Wednesday of each month at 7 pm taking place at the Confederation Centre Public Library. This month the meeting will be on Jan. 18 and the book is “Hunger Games.” Teens ages 12 – 17 are invited for some lively discussion. If interested, copies of the book can be checked out from the library using your library card.
Hey Stonepark! Are you ready to brighten up your winter ? Do you want to have some fun with your friends? Then don’t miss Stonepark’s second social of the year tonight from 6:00-9:00pm. The theme for tonight is neon and sparkles, so dig out your brightest colors and chase away the winter blahs!!. Admission is $5.00 at the door. Students attending the social will also have access to the gym, so that they can cheer on our basketball team in the Paul Nogler Tournament. Get your friends together and come out for a great night of fun.
Our girls basketball team came back from a 23-11 half time performance against Birchwood last night. Sarah Steele led the Tigers with 13 points and played solid defense while Keeley McGill scored 12. Allie McCabe came off the bench to spark the defense and grab rebounds for the team and chipped in 3points at key mental in the game. Lexi Macinnis played another solid game for us. The team will play East Wiltshire tonight at 4:15.
The Eastern School District Honours Band students will be rehearsing today in the band room, games room and cafeteria stage.
First period band class will be held in the upstairs computer lab, band classes for the rest of the day will be held in the downstairs computer labs. Students should bring pencils and paper for these classes.
There will be a Jazz Band rehearsal after school today from 3:10-4:10
All band trip permission forms and deposits are due tomorrow (Friday).
Kristine and Taylor from 7E are collecting items for the QEH . Those items include old books, boardgames and puzzels, the class who collects the most items will win a prize! Just bring your items down to 7E on the lower grade 7 floor, and they will keep track of all the items you hand in , thanks in advance for you support.
Could all members of the supergroup please give Mr. Stratton their “homework” slips today. The group will meet Friday at 12:30.
