Stonepark School

Wednesday, Day 3

Cafeteria:   Chicken Fingers & Dip with fries or   BBQ Chicken Wrap and Toss Salad

Collecting Spare Change:  Students and staff are reminded that we are collecting spare change this week in support of the Terry Fox Run this Friday. We have a container in the main office which is available all day. We will also have it in the lobby after lunch. Your support for this worthwhile cause is much appreciated.

The Stonepark Golf Team:  Had a very impressive performance yesterday in the zone qualifying tournament held at Belvedere. All four golfers shot rounds in the 70’s with Colin Koughan leading the way with a 75, Jordon Birt and Nick Currie with 77’s and Nick Fitzpatrick a 79. The team will now advance to the Provincial Championships next week where they hope to defend their provincial title from last year. Best of luck to the boys!

The Girls #1 Soccer team:   Battled to a close 1-1 draw last night with East Wiltshire.  The play went back and forth with great opportunities at both ends.  Maddie Hurley scored her first goal as a Tiger on a penalty, after getting hauled down in the 18 yard box.  Goalies from both teams made key saves to preserve the tie.  It was good effort by all our players and they will look to come out on top the next time they hit the pitch. Next game is at Simmons field tomorrow against Queen Charlotte.  Good luck girls.

Girls Volleyball Team: Was narrowly defeated by Queen Charlotte – 3 games 0 – 25/20, 25/13, 25/21.  Girls have a practice today from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm in preparation for a game against

Girls A Soccer Team: Congratulations to the girls’ A soccer team for their 5 – 0 win.  Grace Christian improved lots from last year and put up a good fight.  Kelly McCardle started of the scoring which was then followed by amazing goals by Chelsey Gunn, Courtney Gunn, Clara Ready, and Bethany MacDougall.  The girls really came together as a team and it certainly paid off.  Well done girls!

Phys Ed: Last call for permission forms, contracts and athletic fees for Fall sport athletes.  Coaches are asked to suspend play and practice for those athletes who have not turned in these items by tomorrow.  Boys soccer must hand in necessary forms and money to Mr. VanWeichen
