Girls Field Hockey Team:  Our girls field hockey team advanced to the Provincial gold medal game on Thursday by defeating East Wiltshire 2-0 last night.  After a scoreless first half, the girls came out ready to play and scored a beauty of a goal early in the second half.  After a series of exceptional passes, Charlee Holden pounded the ball in the back of the net to put us up 1-0.  Amelia Jenkins would be rewarded for her hard work with a nice goal to put the game away.  Payton Brown had the win in net and Sophie Carragher helped her out by pulling a sure EWS goal off the line.  It was a total team effort and the team is looking to the provincial final.  Way to go girls! Practice today from 3:00 – 4:00 pm
Boys  AA Soccer: The boys won 3-2 in overtime and will advance to the finals on Friday. SIS started the game with a quick goal to go up 1-0. Stonepark tied the game 20 min later on a James Foster volley inside the 18 yard box. The first half ended 1-1. The start of the second half saw SIS take the lead once again 2-1, but the Tigers applied pressure and Conner Gray scored to tie it up again 2-2. The Tigers continued to control the game but couldn’t get the winner. The game went into overtime and James Foster gave the Tigers the lead on a free kick in the first overtime period. The second overtime period saw scoring chances for both sides and Ben Wheeler making some key saves to give the Tigers the win and the right to go to the Prov. Finals on Friday in Cornwall. The team has played some great, exciting playoff soccer the past two games winning both in overtime.
