Fri. Day 5 – Announcements

Cafeteria:   Hot Chicken Sandwich with Fries & Veggie
Community Fundraiser: There is a community fundraiser taking place on Friday November 30th at the Murphy Centre, and the organizers are planning a Kids Talent Show as part of the evening’s events from 6:30-8:30. They already have some acts confirmed, but they are looking for 4-5 more acts – possibly a Lip Synch, or a kid rock band, or a dance group, something entertaining with a bunch of kids involved. If you are interested in being a part of that evening, please see Mr. Beck.
Basketball Teams: The first try out for the girls A basketball team will be today from 3:00-4:30.
The first try out for the boys A basketball team will be on Saturday, Nov. 17th, from 12:00-2:00
Christmas Spirit:  Bars will be sold at break time and lunch time at the cost of $1.00 per bar.  All proceeds will be going to support needy families this Christmas.
CBC’s Cross Country Fun Hunt – A new CBC TV show (“hosted by Jordan Francis” after “CBC Funhunt”) that features Prince Edward Island will air on Saturday, November 17th at 9:30am (8:30am PC,  10:00am Newfoundland and Labrador) . The series allows kids to pitch hometown locations as contenders for the “most fun” spot in Canada and this episode features our own Lacie Koughan from 8E.At the end of the series, fans will vote on Canada’s top fun spot — with the winning community receiving a special concert prize with guest singer, Victoria Duffield (“Shut up and Dance”).
